Wild Words in the world: Using the lost words resource boxes on 4th February 2020

This course and the associated resource boxes have been developed with support from the Lost Words book artist, Jackie Morris. The box includes a number of the books themselves, plus items that can help you explore the world around you and develop children’s literacy and connection with the outdoors.

The course explores writing and teaching techniques and ways to stimulate interest in literacy and literacy skills amongst pupils by using the outdoors.

During the course delegates will:

  • experience practical activities outdoors that will encourage your children (and yourself!) to look, learn, write and dream about the natural world and our part in it
  • investigate literacy, art and science resources in the new CDEC Wild Words resource boxes, all with links to the curriculum
  • have the space and time to discuss connections between ‘nature literacy’ and emotional literacy and well-being

Target Audience:  NQTs, Teachers, literacy subject leaders.
